RGU - BEST PRACTICES

Title of Practice: Mission Livelihood

Goal

  • 1. The goal of the livelihood program is to improve the welfare and livelihoods of the target poor households
  • 2. Livelihood training trains groups of people who have similar resources, such as locations, incomes, livestock, land, tools, education, social networks, and skills. The essence of true livelihood training is empowering people to put such resources to the best use to make their livelihoods sustainable

The Context

Livelihood encompasses various aspects such as employment, income generation, skill development, and economic stability. The mission may involve tasks or challenges designed to simulate real-world scenarios where individuals or communities need to secure their livelihoods, potentially in contexts like rural development, entrepreneurship, sustainable agriculture, vocational training, or job creation initiatives.

Practices

In our mission to enhance livelihoods, promoting diversity and inclusivity in the business environment fosters ethical practices and strengthens connections among underrepresented groups, leading to sustainable business expansion. Our initiative focuses on empowering entrepreneurs from various backgrounds through collaborations with Deen Dayal Upadhyay Kaushal Kendra. By providing opportunities for all entrepreneurs to showcase their products on diverse platforms, we inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds, who form a significant portion of our enrollment. As part of our commitment to sustainability and community development, RGU procures products from these entrepreneurs to be used as gifts for various occasions, demonstrating our dedication to supporting local businesses and fostering economic empowerment for all.
