Department of Sociology, Radha Govind University Ramgarh, Jharkhand, is dedicated to exploring the complexities of human society and its interactions. Department of Sociology at Radha Govind University aims to produce socially conscious and critically thinking graduates who are equipped to address contemporary social challenges. Mission
The Faculty of Sociology Department are united in seeking to provide a high quality educational programme for our undergraduate and Post Graduate students.
PROGRAM EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES (PEOs)
A Post Graduate of Sociology should be able:
PEO1. To develop a curriculum that will adequately socialize each individual student.
PEO2. To Introduce students to the discipline of sociology and orienting to thinking sociologically.
PEO3. To be able to understand the Deferent Kinds of Social Problems.
PEO4. Preparing him/her for National level Competitive examination.
PROGRAMME SPECIFIC OUTCOMES (PSOs)
PSO1. Formulate a clear strategy to deal with the emerging social challenges.
PSO2. Carry forward the sociological tradition with and inter-disciplinary approach.
PSO3. Understand the traditional of social thought in chronological way.
PROGRAMME OUTCOMES (POs)
PO1- On successful completion of this course, the student will be able to understand other subjects such as History, Political, Economics, etc more easily.
PO2- Identify and define basic terms and concepts which are needed for advanced course in sociology.
PO3- Analyze social behavior and determine the effects on society.
PO4- Sociology learning provides initial knowledge about society, social life and social interactions. It prepares an individual to social life by inculcating values, morals, and manners.
PO5- It gives knowledge about communities in which he interacts like rural urban and tribal communities.
PO6- Demonstrate an understanding of Rural and Urban Sociology. Students will be familiar with the concept of culture norms and values of rural and urban societies.
PO7- Independent judgment, intercultural and regional Sensitivity, global and national perspectives to solve problems concerning Humanities.
PO8- Student will demonstrate knowledge of how to use theory to conceptualize a sociological problem.
PO9- Student will demonstrate the ability to communicate sociological knowledge to others.
PO10- Student will develop an ability to use social scientific research methods to address sociological questions.
PO11- Student will develop the knowledge, skill and attitude necessary to be engaged member of the community.
PO12- Student will possess analytical skills in areas such as policy analysis, administration analysis and problem solving.
